HTC J Butterfly (2014) launched in Japan

Could this be the successor to the HTC Butterfly S sold worldwide? If you remember the original Butterfly, it was initially a Japan exclusive model called the HTC J before it was released in US as the HTC Droid DNA.

In Japan they are bundling JBL IEMs, hope this trickles down to the international market. This also probably marks a new collaboration in the sound department for HTC after ending their partnership with Beats Audio some time ago.

Interesting to note is that HTC is using a 13 megapixel sensor instead of their innovative UltraPixel. Personally I like this step though some may disagree with me as I usually use my camera for capturing text documents thus higher resolution is always welcome. Anyway perhaps HTC is forced to follow the general consumers opinion that "more pixels = better photos" and cannot continuing pushing their UP technology.

Compared to the HTC One E8 which also uses a 13MP camera, this has the Duo camera system that allows for the UFocus feature which allows you to blur the background after you take the shot, and several other interesting effects linked to the secondary camera which functions as a DOF sensor.

There is no news regarding the international availability of this phone.
